I use a mini clock a lot in my work. I’m always needing to know the time without having to search around, and I set alarms, etc. So recently I bought a $1 clock from IKEA and revamped it with washi tape. Instantly my clock became 1,000 times better looking, and now I want to make 1,000 more of them. Wouldn’t this make a great hostess gift? Or just fun and budget friendly decor? Here’s how I made this washi tape craft (you won’t believe how easy it is).
Gather These Supplies
- Travel clock (I got mine at IKEA but you can try Target too)
- Washi tape
- Mod Podge (Matte or Gloss formula)
- Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
- Craft knife
Pick the washi tape you love and start spreading it across the face of the clock, smoothing as you go. I didn’t want to waste any washi (this stuff is precious!), so I tore it when going across the face and then continued on the other side.
There’s a little area between the clock face and the plastic body of the clock where you can run the craft knife around and trim the washi. Just go slowly and carefully. Then flip the clock onto its face and trim the sides.
