Happy Fourth of July! Okay, well not quite yet, but we’re really close. I decided to do a little decorating this week, but with the short amount of time until the big it needed to be a small project – something quick. That is exactly what this easy 4th of July craft is. I revamped a small, inexpensive glass container with a few simple supplies and of course, washi tape. Here’s how I did it.
Gather These Supplies
- Glass container (with or without lid)
- FolkArt Enamel paint – Wicker White
- Washi tape in two colors – red and blue
- Craft knife
This is kind of a weird photo, but what I’m doing is painting the inside of the glass container with white glass paint. It takes several layers. Meaning, you need to paint a layer, let it dry, and then paint another layer. It’s quick to paint each layer and you can go do something else while it’s drying. I painted the inside of the lid too.
Once the inside of the container is dry, add your washi tape to the front in a simple flag configuration. A few stripes of blue and then red for the main portion. I didn’t worry about making everything even.
I’m going to put wrapped candy inside. Which reminds me of another thing. Technically you can’t have food touch the paint. So you can put wrapped candy inside OR you can paint the outside and then candy is safe to go inside. It’s up to you. Happy Independence Day.
