When buying gifts, whether for the holidays or a special occasion, it can get expensive. More and more I’ve been looking for resourceful yet crafty solutions to gift wrap presents. One amazing way is using brown kraft paper and lovely washi tape. I’ll show you how to make washi tape gift wrap on the quick and easy!
- Kraft paper
- Washi tape
Here is one way to gift wrap with washi tape. First use the kraft paper to cover the gift. Next, use the washi tape to create equal stripes from one end to the other. Using alternate colors and designs creates a very pretty package ready to give to someone special!
Another way to decorate gifts with washi tape is using only one roll. Start at the bottom and wrap it around diagonally toward the top. Use your finger to press the tape at the corners and smoothing out any bubbles. A nice and easy technique for something stylish.
This last way is my favorite. Create a cute pattern using two small pieces of tape, crossing one piece over the other like a cross or an “x”. Use scissors to trim the ends and clean up the edges. Place them randomly or have a planned layout. I like how it looks like fabric.
I’m not wasting any more money on paper from the store when clearly this is a better option! Not only are the designs great because of the washi tape but it shows thought and care was put into wrapping the gift. Use pastel tape for a baby shower gift, neon tape for a boy’s birthday gift or floral tape for a bridal gift.
