You can put washi tape on anything! This magnet board is a perfect example – just pick your two favorite patterns (and make your own magnets).
I’m moving into a new studio shortly – and I need some places to put ideas and to-do lists. I’m very visual and I like to see things in front of my face.
I’m planning on having a few magnet boards just like this one on the wall, with different uses for each one. And you know how I differentiate them? Washi tape, of course!
I had an alphabet pattern that I’ve been dying to use, and so I finally got to use it. Add a coordinating color in a solid and you are good to go.
Decorating a magnet board is easy (and you can make your own magnets, too!). Here’s how I did it.
Gather These Supplies
- White magnet board
- Washi tape – two coordinating patterns
- Wood circles – around 1.5″
- Acrylic paint – to coordinate with washi tape
- Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
- Craft glue
Paint your wood circles with the paint colors you chose to coordinate with your washi tape. You can paint both sides, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to.
Glue your magnets on the back of the wood circles and let dry.
I love Dimensional Magic! So I put it on the front of the wood circles to make them shiny. Let dry for several hours.
Add your decorative washi tape to the edges of the magnet board. I used one patterned tape and a solid one to coordinate.
Trim around the back with the scissors and glue down with the craft glue. Let dry.
Your magnet board is ready to rock and roll!
What will you put on your magnet board?
