Use a mini wood easel to create a useful and cute DIY phone stand for your desk. You just need to add washi tape. So easy, anyone can do it.

Even though sometimes electronics can distract me while I work, I started thinking a little easel for my phone would be great.
I can stream music at the desk while making sure none of the paints, glues or glitter at my fingertips creeps onto it. Just one problem . . . the easel was boring looking.
Enter washi tape to make this DIY phone stand!

Here’s how I dressed it up. You’ll need:
- Table easel
- Patterned washi tape sheet
- Thin washi tape rolls, two different colors
I only wanted some of the patterned washi sheet to be highlighted. The sheet was a beautiful coral color. Cut a piece the correct size of the area you’d like to cover.
Peel the white backing off and stick to the surface, rubbing out the bubbles with back of your thumb. Cute already, right?
Recently I purchased thin washi tape rolls, which are half the width of regular rolls. It worked out perfectly here and gave the easel a cool color block/outlined effect. Just center the tape and use scissors for clean ends.
Luckily I had a matching coral washi roll so I saved the back leg of the easel for that. It really helps blends the coral and teal together!
In less than 15 minutes, my phone had a cute little easel it could sit on while I worked. When I’m not playing music, I can use the easel for displaying business cards or even a small desk calendar. This would also make a sweet gift for a technology loving tween/teen.

Where did you find the easel? I have been searching for one that has the support bar at the bottom for so long!
