Even with technology changing constantly, I still find myself making the occasional mixed CD for car rides. I’m not much of a radio person so creating a playlist of my favorites songs for when I’m driving is essential.
Staring at the boring plastic cases, I had a lightbulb moment. Then magic happened.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- CD cases
- Washi tape
- Scissors (optional)
To make the process easier, detach the clear plastic cover from the black plastic backing. If you want clean edges, use scissors to cut the washi. I started with one color tape and continued alternating to create stripes.
In between the wider tape pieces, I laid down thinner washi to create a more fun striped pattern. This would be really cute with floral tape!
Then finish off the case with one color following the thickest part of the plastic cover. This also covers any imperfections and gives the case a nice clean look.
I definitely know some tweens and teens who would love to do this project! You can also change the tape colors and designs depending on what CD you’re creating.
