Make a personalized piece of washi tape wall art using a giant wood letter from the craft store. This initial looks great on a gallery wall!
Hello, fellow washi tape fans! My name is Sarah and I blog at Bombshell Bling about all things blingy, colorful, holiday, and s’mores.
Today I am here to share with you the washi tape decorated giant initial that I made for the gallery wall that I made for my dad’s family room after he did a big remodel. I love the way that it turned out!
He was a bit skeptical about the bicycle washi, but I think a little whimsy in life is a good thing, don’t you?
Let’s talk about how I created this fun washi tape wall art. I started with a GIANT letter, which I believe I found at Hobby Lobby (use a coupon!).
I painted the top of the letter white, so that the thinner washi would have a white background, and the edges of the letter black, so that it would match the frames on the wall. Here is what happened next . . .
I also chose not to do an exact pattern, but mixed it up a bit. I did try to space the bicycles out fairly evenly, though, since they really stand out on the letter.
One of the things that I love about washi is that you can always reposition it if you don’t like where you placed it initially, similar to masking tape.
