Learn how to make a sticker representing your place of residence using your favorite craft supply – washi tape! This state sticker is really easy.
Vinyl decals are still one of the hottest trends out there for decor. It doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down but even if it did, stickers never go out of style. Our living room has been getting a decor overhaul lately.
Pretty maps now grace the walls but I wanted to add a more personal touch to our blue mirror. With a few materials, I was able to create a Connecticut state sticker from washi tape!
- Parchment paper (or wax paper)
- Washi Tape
Cut a piece of the parchment paper the same size you want the state sticker. Then lay the washi tape right on top in stripes, overlapping slightly. Using a pencil, draw out the state you desire.
Trim the pencil lines with the scissors. This will create a cutout like a regular sticker. Pull the parchment paper away from the washi tape.
Then apply the state sticker to a mirror or window, using your fingertips to air out any bubbles.
Simple and cute! It adds just enough pop of color to the mirror and balances out the rest of the decor colors. This would be a fun project to do with kids if their learning their states.
I might add a small heart with a Sharpie to mark exactly where we live. Overall I love my little Connecticut sticker!
