Use washi tape to make a cool wall frame that can be removed when you want to change up your decor! This washi tape wall frame is SO EASY and cheap to do.
Now that the weather is getting cooler, the DIY projects around the home are growing. I figure now that we’ll be indoors more the next couple of months, I can tackle some design issues I’ve been really wanting to take care of. Like this area for one:
Kinda dull right? I absolutely love the original framed print but there was too much white space. Of course washi tape had to make an appearance!
If this is something you want to do, grab a ruler. Measure from the edge of the frame out two inches and then four inches. Use a pencil to make little markers.
Do this three times for each side of the frame; left edge, center and right edge. Then take your washi tape, stretch it out and line up the edge of the tape with the markers.
This should create a fluid straight washi line. Use a pair of scissors to clean up the corners where the strips of tape meet.
The black and white looked great but I love color. So I continued with yellow and pink to highlight the frame as well. Then I finished it off again with the black and white triangle washi tape.
What a difference!! I had to stop and breath because I wanted to keep taping everything. Looking around there definitely will be more washi tape projects that highlight frames.
Using washi tape on the walls is amazing because it’s stylish yet temporary. For someone who is creative, it’s nice knowing I can change out this design in the future. For now, the tape is staying right where it is!
